The BMW Group is one of the world’s leading car and motorcycle manufacturers with more than 101,000 employees in over 100 countries. With the brands BMW, MINI, Husqvarna and Rolls Royce, the company operates very successfully in the premium segment of the automobile and motorcycle industry. Founded in 1916 as an aircraft engine factory, BMW developed its first motorcycle, “R32”, as early as 1922. This model caused a sensation amongst engineers when premiered at the German Automobile Show in 1923. In just a few years, BMW became an internationally-recognised brand in the car and motorcycle industry, and renowned for its performance, engine reliability and later for its numerous sporting successes – a reputation it still maintains today.
The new motorcycle showroom concept was designed by BMW and becc agency. Fixtures and furniture were produced by Isaria in Oberpframmern. The aim of the new showroom concept is to position the dynamics of the motorcycle industry and its ideal of freedom in a more independent light: bikes are presented in a new style and new environment under the motto "unstoppable". Since the presentation of the new showroom concept at the beginning of April 2011, the first new BMW showrooms have opened in Manhattan and Rome.
Various wall and mid-floor display units were developed for the different items. In the new showroom, BMW bikers will find all the latest models and accessories, and full equipment and clothing for their own motorcycle experience, along with many suggestions for future bike tours. Large pictures also convey the motorcyle adventure to customers. A special version of the horizontal support system Invisible 3 forms the basis of the numerous display units – for different types of shelves, front arms, even as a support for perforated sheet panels - and simultaneously offers homogeneity for corporate design.
