IVANKA Studio and Concrete Works is a Budapest headquartered firm founded by Katalin Ivanka and Andras Ivanka in 2004. IVANKA Studio and Concrete Works' endeavour is to create desire by envisaging distinctive designs and to execute them with the background of an organized technological drive. Their work is based on the versatile nature of CONCRETE - main material chosen for creative expression through discovering unexplored attributes.
IVANKA Design lab and concrete factory was born to design, to develop and to produce. It lives like a living organism that conceived and born, it enters relationships, has values, a unique identity and a personality. Take risks, incite movements, and improve based on both intuition and strategies.
IVANKA has its various scale of products and it also has tailor made orders. In order to provide the best for its partners the company collaborates with many artists, designers, architects, engineers. They are convinced that ideas are best nurtured in the open. As a result, IVANKA is a truly open organization, literally and figuratively: allows to experience collaboration in its more energetic forms which is always exciting. Processes and products developed by IVANKA reflect the synergy coming from the fusion of practices and an endless curiosity.
It is famous for its unique wall panels - like ORTO 'Living Covering' -, for Jankovits-Ivanka Concrete Sound audiophile loudspeaker cabinet design and high end engineering, and for the technology of monolith exposed concrete stairs, a high quality structure which needs no additional covering. Its aesthetic appearance is given by the refined smooth surface.
IVANKA debuted successfully in 2009 in Milan with the SEEYOU Gravestone which redefines the traditional taboos of mourning. It visualizes the thoughts of mortality in a solid sensible way with the single ornament, of an embedded crux tenderly harmonizing with the environment.
It is not only architecture and design that establish the material but it is the material that influences architecture, and the discipline of design demands a reciprocal relationship that can move from idea to materiality as well as in the opposite direction moving materiality to idea.
An affinity for material and a search for new technological solutions with an articulated intent to deliver breath-taking, earth-shaking and inspiring solutions.
Success is waking up in the morning so excited about what we have to do that we literally fly out of the door. It's getting to work with the people we love. To create an environment for ourselves and others of like mind, to work together to do the work we all enjoy and are passionate about Doing the best job we could.
Success it's connecting to the world and make people feel.
