Werzalit. A name that stands for weather resistance, durability and variety of shape and colour. From the initial idea of shaping wood, there finally came a patented process in which finely chipped wood is moulded to shape with special duroplastic resins under heat and pressure. The result is a highly compressed, robust wood material with a uniform structure throughout, which is suitable for the most stringent demands: lastingly beautiful.
Today, Werzalit is a company that occupies a special position in the woodworking industry with its wood chip moulding technology. Through its activities and the Werzalit license holder group, it has achieved worldwide importance. Wood on the inside, strong on the outside. The strong Werzalit wood material is created from finely chipped, selected wood, in exactly defined mixing ratios, under heat and pressure. In any required shape and with a highly-compressed, homogenous material structure, for which Werzalit exclusively use native new wood from permanent forestry.
Along with the material structure, one of the particular characteristics of Werzalit is the special surface refinement. When the rough wood blank is finished, the adhesive forces of the similar resins in the core and surface materials are activated at temperatures of 160 °C resulting in a permanent material bond. Consequently, the Werzalit wood material is extremely resistant to heat, moisture and mechanical loading.
