Finding its origin in the velvet weaving industry, Parabeam® 3D Glass Fabric is a fabric woven out of a 100% E-glass yarn and consists of two decklayers bonded together by vertical piles. These piles are woven into the decklayers thus forming an integral sandwich structure.
We can distinguish two directions in the fabric: warp and weft. The warp direction can be recognised by the length of the roll and the eight-shaped piles. The weft direction can be recognised by the width of the roll and the I-shaped piles.
Particular advantages for use of Parabeam® are: weight reduction while maintaining high mechanical properties, possibility to produce fire retardant laminates (phenol or polyester based), no risk of delamination, speed of work, insulation properties and the fast production of ready made panels with (decorative) faces on both sides.
