OLS and OLS ABRI screens are designed to withstand and protect against elements of direct outdoor exposure including harsh sun, wind, hail and heavy downpours. OLS screen is commonly used in a fixed manner or in rolling applications over ground-to-ground structures. OLS ABRI screens are reinforced with a strong plastic ABRI wire for the convenience hook placement necessary for hanging retractable systems. Retractable OLS shading systems are commonly used to supply moveable shade over a greenhouse or as sun and elemental protection during the hardening or growing of ornamentals or trees in the field.

OLS screens are intended for outside use above glass and plastic houses as a rolling screen. The strong monofilament yarn used guarantee a long useful life, even under severe weather conditions.
OLS screens consist of aluminium strips with open spaces in between these strips. The strips reflect unwanted sun radiation and the open structure allow for sufficient airflow.
The overall result of this is a considerable reduction of daytime crop temperature. As the aluminium strips reduce heat radiation from the greenhouse, OLS screens decrease the heat loss from the crop during night-time: As the plant temperature will stay higher the night frost damage will be limited to a minimum.
