The XLS OBSCURA REVOLUX screens consist of two layers: a top layer with aluminium strips and a black or white lower layer. For all sensitive crops needing day length control, like chrysanthemum, kalanchoe or euphorbia, the blackout effect is more than sufficient, with light transmission <0.1%.
Sunlight is reflected by the aluminium upper surface. Therefore when the weather is sunny, undesired heat accumulation is excluded during blackout periods.
Even with two layers of material, the folded bundle is very small in the opened position. This permits a maximum amount of light to reach the crops.
XLS OBSCURA REVOLUX screens allow for sufficient water vapour permeation. Closing the screen therefore leads to a minimal rise of the air humidity and condensation drops do not form on the underside of the screen.

In order to achieve the intended firebreak properties, XLS FIREBREAK should be used in flat sliding systems installed with a fire resistant support wire at 3.20 m or less between them.
