The Basis range, designed by Klaus Franck, Werner Sauer and wiege, succeeded Friso Kramer’s 1200 bench system for transit areas. The core idea was a construction with foot sections and cross braces allowing a large span that could accommodate up to five individual seats. The elements could also be configured as corner solutions to form spacious sitting landscapes and be fitted with accessories such as circular table tops.
