Designed by Pol Abraham and Henry Le Même, the Martel de Janville Sanatorium featured interiors by Jules Leleu in collaboration with Jean Prouvé, whose firm manufactured the furniture. The rooms for officers in the French Air Force comprised a bed, a wall-mounted desk with an accompanying chair, and an armchair for guests. The chaise longues were situated on the balconies outside of each room, and thus can be considered outdoor furniture.
Manufactured by Les Ateliers Jean Prouvé for the Martel de Janville Sanatorium, Plateau d'Assy (Haute Savoy), France lacquered tubular steel, wooden armrests and feet, later upholstery 443/4 x 263/4 x 58 in. (113.7 x 68 x 147.3 cm)
