G.A. van de Groenekan

Continuing on the theme of the "Red Blue Chair," the "High Backed" armchair shares the same basic construction, but employs rounded billets and an anatomically shaped curved seat and backrest. This design was originally designed for a number of interiors: the Schroder house, the Harrenstein-Schrader family and the home of the Birza family. Our example is believed to have been made later for van de Groenekan's use in his own home.
