Wegner accentuates the joinery in the backrest of this design by using contrasting woods. The center detail forms a slender cross with radiating lines of wenge wood. The complex twist from horizontal to vertical in the backrest is achieved through a laborious hand finishing, typical in the finest of Wegner's designs.
