Throughout the 1950s Osvaldo Borsani produced a range of inspired mechanical furnishings that were characterised by a highly articulated machine aesthetic, inspired by recent advances in Italy's burgeoning automobile industry. As production costs were high, many of the designs, this one included, were only accessible to the economically priviledged.
