An “ALAK” stacking chair, designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara, Finland, 1959, for Asko Tehtaat Oy, around 1960, moulded laminated wood frame, the seat and backrest of moulded plywood, stamped NIEMINEN, height 74 cm, width 53 cm, depth 50 cm, height of seat 45 cm. Good original condition with traces of wear. An improved variant of the “Domus” (“Stax”, “Finnchair”) stacking chair of 1946/47, still featuring a solid wood frame.
