A container (sewing box), the design attributed to Gerrit Rietveld, de Stijl, around 1935, four tiers with containers arranged along a central axis, swivelling mechanism, the stand of solid beechwood, laminated wood, lacquer covering in the typical de Stijl colours red, blue, yellow, and black, height 65 cm, depth 27 cm.
A comparable object with three instead of four containers was sold at Christie's in the Modern Design Sale on 24th October 2000 (lot 14) as by Gerrit Rietveld.
