Walnut, leather
571⁄2l x 241⁄2w x 341⁄2h
Taken from a red figure kylix (a wide footed bowl) from 465 to 460 B.C. discovered in Spina, Italy, the Klini is the largest in Robsjohn-Gibbings’ seating for Saridis. This chaise lounge is finely detailed with cross-cut Greek walnut in the central section of the backrest. The long and wide proportions are balanced by the sculptural back and delicately curved legs. Labeled with a hand-nailed brass plaque.
