MedaMorph – a conferencing system developed by Vitra in collaboration with Alberto Meda – makes it possible to plan spaces with great variability. The MedaMorph programme comprises a series of individual tables, a conferencing system, and a folding table, so that different requirements can be fulfilled with a single, highly versatile product line. The conferencing system can be configured in any imaginable shape and size. The substructure – the system base – comprises legs, crossbeams in varying lengths, and spider mounts with numerous docking points. The potential shape of the table tops is almost limitless – ranging from triangles to circles to trapezoids. The base construction is adaptable to any table shape, which makes MedaMorph an extremely flexible programme in the planning stages. After installation, the conferencing systems are fixed.

Using Space Intelligently
With round and rectangular individual tables, as well as folding tables, MedaMorph offers additional options for frequently changing requirements. The programme is based on Vitra's Net 'n' Nest concept, which links 'Netting' (Networking) – the intense collaboration demanded by team projects – with 'Nesting' – individual space for tasks requiring privacy and concentration. In this way, MedaMorph contributes to the smart utilisation of innovative open space offices by combining the economical use of space with individual workspace options for employees.

Flexible Applications
Individual tables with rectangular tops are equipped with angled, tapered legs that can be attached to the top at various positions with knurled screws. Since tools are not required for assembly or disassembly, it is easy to adapt the tables to specific spatial requirements. For settings demanding quick and frequent changes – seminars and workshops, for example – folding tables are available in two sizes. Round tables in a variety of dimensions are especially suitable for small group seating or transition zones. Depending on power and data requirements, they can either be mounted on individual legs or on the system base.

The MedaFlap is a feature that incorporates power and data access.
A unit with electric outlets and ethernet ports is set flush into the table surface. The substructure of the base also serves the purpose of cable management.

The crossbars and legs of MedaMorph are manufactured from steel and die-cast aluminium. The spider mounts are also made of die-cast aluminium. Table tops are offered in natural wood veneer, a melamine finish or powder coating. The complete system base is likewise available in a powder-coated version. The legs are alternately finished in polished aluminium.

Alberto Meda (born 1945) is one of today's most prominent Italian designers. In contrast to many of his colleagues, who came to design from the field of architecture, Meda was trained as an engineer. An outstanding characteristic of all of Meda's designs – MedaMorph being the newest example – is the unity of structural intelligence and formal elegance. Starting in the details, this characteristic distinguishes the overall appearance of his objects as well. Up until now, Meda's collaboration with Vitra has focussed on the development of office chairs, beginning with the Meda Chair in 1996, and continuing with MedaPro and MedaPal, as well as the visitor chairs MedaSlim and MedaShell.
