tavolo and panca — down to earth and innovative.
Paolo Piva has reinterpreted the dining table with Tavolo and Panca — a clear, matter-of-fact table and a pair of simple upholstered benches without backs and armrests. The set gives an innovative twist to the age-old theme of table and bench. Piva’s new design is intended as an alternative to the trend of remaining seated at the table after dinner. The minimalist formal language lends Tavolo and Panca a new authenticity and brings the dining area back to basics.
With Tavolo and Panca the individual elements are part of the whole. The ensemble can be opened up for dining and closed again afterwards to act like a stand-alone piece by pushing the benches under the table. In both configurations Tavolo and Panca form a harmonious, independent unit.
