Numbered amongst the stars of the IMM Cologne 2007, it won the ‘red dot award/best of the best’ and was nominated for the ‘Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 2008’: the MOEL armchair by Parisian designer Inga Sempé is now complemented by a new variant with low backrest, which nonetheless still envelops the sitter like a cocoon.

As its name suggests, Inga Sempé’s MOËL seeks to offer us the softest, most pleasant comfort possible, promising both relaxation and security. The name comes from the French word ‘moelleux’, meaning soft and comfy. Soft, rounded lines heighten the general impression of comfort, almost making you forget that this is a model like no other. MOËL will appeal most to lovers of an informal, relaxed lifestyle, who want to welcome friends in the most convivial way possible and so need their seating to accommodate a wide variety of different positions – sitting, lying, lounging, cross-legged, kneeling…
