This piece of furniture is a de-light even just to look at. It is graceful, compact and clear, as if the Japanese art of origami had been translated into exquisite wood. Yet it is also reminiscent of Biedermeier-style bureaus. For like them, it has a drop-down lid, which when open serves as a desktop. And those who find themselves tiring of the sight of their desktop detritus can simply close the lid again and return the desk to its role as a model of discretion.
The interior of the AT-AT is no less elegant than its exterior. It could hardly be simpler or more functional. For it has space for laptops of all sizes and stowaway compartments for a computer cable and mobile phone charger – all those unsightly necessities one would prefer not to see.
