Mormor is a visually exciting and sculptural piece of furniture with the size of a sofa and the mobile qualities of a lounge chair. Made from one single piece it is an almost monolithic object, but in spite of its compact and solid appearance it weighs only 26.5 kg. With its funky design and mobility Mormor challenges habitual practices surrounding the sofa as being a stationary piece of group furniture – a visual, sculptural and self-containing piece of furniture which functions either as a free-standing piece of furniture or against a wall. In 2007 Mormor won the Danish Design Prize awarded by the Danish Design Centre.
