The Maya sofa range is another masterly design by Paolo Piva, the doyen of international furniture design.
Piva breaks up the outwardly calm, rectangular form by introducing an elegant, sweeping form on the inside of the backrest. The tension between interior and exterior can be seen as a metaphor of the conflicting pulls of our public and private lives. The curves in the corners afford the sitter space to lean back and relax, and act as a buffer against the hectic pace of modern life. The loose seat cushions and extra cushions provide additional comfort. Maya is offered as a full group of modules that can be used to create prestigious seating areas for in both large and small rooms. The elements can be combined for a variety of uses (as end or corner elements, as a chaise longue, a divider or relaxation unit). Removable covers are available for versions with fabric upholstery. A sofa and footrest complete the range.
