“PAC chair is a conceptual proposal. It is the result of a refl ection observing and acknowledging current developments in our social behaviour, such as: the form of individual progressive movement; the development of human movement in the urban and natural context; clothing style and daily ritual in the offi ce, at home and in leisure time. What fascinates me is the confident anticonformist and courageous behaviour of those who practise individual sports, that I see as representing the spirit of the times.With the PAC chair I hope to transfer this marriage of behaviour and aesthetics to working life.”
Pac Chair is a new-concept office armchair. New are the shape, the materials, the prerequisites for the project. It is meant for the modern office, which calls for specific attention to the ergonomic, practical and visual aspects of the furniture.
Structure
It is composed of two supporting elements, both made of thermoplastic material with considerable mechanical properties: a further element is fastened to the bottom one. Thus, the resulting supporting frame is a rigid structure forming at the same time the tilting mechanism of the seat and the support for seat and backrest.
Seat / Backrest
Seat and backrest are formed by a flexible and elastic support that perfectly distributes the weight of the body. The upholstery is a tridimensional fabric consisting of two external finishing parts held together a monofilament with honeycomb structure which allows air to pass through, thus achieving absolute transpiration and heat exchange.
Armrests
They are made of plastic material with a soft armrest top. They can be adjusted in height up to a maximum of 8 cm through a lever placed on the side of the seat.
Backrest Inclination
The backrest inclination can be easily adjusted by the user through a lever placed in the supporting element on the back. The range and enables to adjust the seat to the ergonomic needs of the user.
ProActive Mechanism
This advanced concept mechanism enables to keep the barycentre of the seat constant during the whole travel of the tilting. The result is a dynamic and natural movement, which does not modify the distance of the user from the desk top or the computer screen. A particularly ergonomic mechanics ensures a perfect support to any posture adopted while working.
Base
With five spokes, of die-cast polished aluminium or mass-dyed plastic material. Wheels with automatic blocking brake, or chair glides with soft bottom material for wooden floors.
