Architonic-ID:  1021619
Designer:
Hans Sandgren Jakobsen
Year:
2002

Pingo was conceived in 2002 as Hans Sandgren Jakobsen’s proposal as a chair for the Danish Crown Prince Frederik – a competition arranged by the Association of Danish Furniture Industries. The seat and back are compression moulded in one piece and the shape is reminiscent of an open shell. The Pingo can be stacked and a flexible connector fitting makes it easy to organise the chair into rows. It comes with or without armrests as well as a supporting rest for writing. The chair also comes with chair suspension brackets, a hymn book holder and numbering clips. Special trolleys are available for transporting the stacked chairs, which are available in beech, maple, cherry and durable melamine. Finally, the Pingo also comes in an upholstered seat and a fully upholstered version. The legs come in chrome and match chrome.
