Robust timeless lighting element constructed from noble materials, bronze or iron. Simple forms that protect while projecting light through an inclined lattice.
"A Carolingian order of 949 converted the building of Sant Pere de Rodes into an independent monastery. It basked in the favour of Rome, the Count of Ampurias, and the magnates. It was one of the richest and most powerful monasteries in the Catalan region. It held villages, vast stretches of land, fishing rights and effects of all types. Its domination spread far beyond our frontiers, extending to Aragon and the Midi region of France. It obtained innumerable privileges and grants from Rome, on whom it was directly dependent. The devotion that was dedicated to the monastery was vast and, naturally, just as deep as hatred that it also aroused. [...] Of Sant Pere de Rodes there is now no more than an immense panoramic view of the surrounding countryside from where it is possible to discern its ruins."

Once work began on the restoration of the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, Elías Torres and José A. Martínez Lapeña designed an elegant sconce, minimalist in size, and recessed to provide subtle illumination to the pathways outside the monastery.
A rectangular recessed wall mounted luminaire, manufactured in cast bronze out of a mould or in cast aluminium with a coat of black forged paint.For 9 W compact fluorescence lamps. The wiring and the lamps are protected against unauthorised access by a grating of the same material as the rest of the wall lamp. Supplied fully assembled as one piece. Assembly instructions are included. Simple recessed placement in the wall or support and held in place by quick drying cement or such. Normal part replacement and maintenance.
Weights aluminium / bronze: 5 kg / 15 kg.
