The Macaya wall mounted luminaire is a flat recessed disk with different covers to offer greater versatility in all types of outdoor installations, including position and illumination lighting, sound, reference, ventilation or inspection.
As a result of the remodelling of the Macaya bridge in Barcelona, and in view of the lack of an element with a contained presence which at the same time was capable of resisting urban use, the creators designed this extremely robust recessed fitting which is the forerunner of the Comodín wall mounted luminaire manufactured by the Fondo Division of Santa & Cole for domestic use.
The disk shaped fitting is manufactured from cast and injected aluminium. Its different covers enable it to be used for vastly different purposes, position light, grating for public address or ventilation, connection inspection box or diffuse lighting.
It is a common element in compromising situations, from the hallways in underground train stations to the steps of railway carriages, fixed or moving urban stairways, and it can be used in public or private spaces whether indoors or outdoors. In this useful luminous talisman the parallel rays of light highlight the aluminium circle in a universal language that alludes to stability and instils confidence, an amulet against fear of the dark.
Fitting available in two diameters: 34 cm and 22 cm. Body of anti-rust cast aluminium. The bowl shaped base houses the electrical wiring for 5 leds of 1 W or for 4 leds of 1 W, in the medium size model. Cover of anti-rust polished injected aluminium. Polycarbonate diffuser in the urban and translucent versions. Stainless steel cover mounting screws. The element is supplied in two separate parts: on the one hand the recessed bowl and on the other the selected cover. Assembly instructions are included. In all the different versions the bowl is recessed in the supporting wall, and the cover is mounted on the bowl. Fixing screws come with the element. Normal part replacement and maintenance.
