Product sheet Cylindre

Architonic-ID:  1021519
Designer:
David Karásek
Year:
2003

Influenced by English Neobrutalism and its known habit of not treating the material, this waste bin uses the cylinder form to contain urban wastes and, in a new arrangement style, construction materials such as concrete, or polyethylene tubes.

David Karásek uses usual construction materials with deliberate aesthetic and functional intention on this cylindrical city waste bin of neobrutalist inspiration.

The structure of the waste bin is made of a concrete base, and a standard black, or color, polyethylene tube, such as those frequently used in construction as a conduct for installations. The waste recipient made of hot galvanized steel lodges inside.

The main characteristics of this waste bin are its raw materials and the way they are used. As Le Corbusier would say, Karásek ?develops a sensitive relationship with the raw materials?. Despite this new syntax, the sculptured form of the cylinder waste bin clearly underlines its function; the cylindrical form proves to be an excellent recipient.

Cast finished concrete. Black polythene body. Hot galvanised steel tray. The element is delivered assembled. Fixing screws come with the element.
Capacity: 36 l.
