Cylindrical waste bin made especially for beaches, in collaboration with MMAMB (Mancomunitat de Municipis de l'Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona). Plastic made, with large capacity, it can be well fixed to the sand, is stackable and easy to maintain.
With the purpose of resolving the problem of picking up litter on the beach, Gonzalo and Martina designed this litter bin, which is functional in size and elegant, created in collaboration with the MMAMB (Mancomunidad de Municipios del Área Metropolitana de Barcelona; the association of municipalities of the metropolitan area of Barcelona). It meets all of the necessary requirements for use at the beach: large capacity, easy maintenance, a lid that can be quickly moved, with a lock to protect it against vandalism, solid placement in the sand, since the last 30 centimetres of the body are buried in the sand, and are filled with sand before the plastic bag is placed inside, thus achieving simple and perfect placement that can be piled up in order to facilitate storage at the end of the summer season. The plastic body allows for the litter bin to be coloured en masse and facilitates personalisation or adaptation to the surroundings. The lid includes a space upon which the name and shield of the municipality can be engraved.
The body and lid are made by means of rotomolding, of polypropylene coloured en masse. The body has an inverted troncoconic form and the lid, which has a central hole, is rounded. The neck of the body is specially designed to facilitate the placement of the bag and prevent it from being seen once the lid is closed. The litter bin has a capacity of 165 litres. The total height of the litter bin is 1.22 metres, and the final 30 centimetres are dug into the sand, so that the actual height on the beach is 0.92 centimetres. The upper diameter measures 63 centimetres and the lower diameter, at sand level, measures 45 centimetres. In order to open the litter bin, a special lever is necessary, and this is supplied with the litter bin. The litter bin is delivered fully assembled. Assembly instructions are provided with the element. It does not require any form of maintenance.
The weight of the element is 10.40 kg and it is supplied in a plastic bag.
