With the new suspended luminaire Sino, dealing with height and focus variables becomes child’s play. Equipped with a choice of suspension systems, and with interchangeable reflectors featuring adjustable focus, Sino provides consistent lighting performance in every situation. The flexibility of Sino is manifest in three key characteristics of the fitting: the variable suspension allows easy adjustment to suit every ceiling height. A new easy-connect system joins the luminaire to its suspension and allows the luminaire to be changed without fuss wherever in the world it is installed (the easy-connect being beyond the last country-specific connection to the mains). Last but not least, the adjustable reflector means that the beam angle can be suited to whatever needs to be lit, and re-adjusted to any new requirement. So last-minute on site adjustments to suit unforeseen circumstances need not be a headache.
Some non-perimeter areas in shops, such as walkways with merchandise displays on either side, require high vertical lighting levels. This is a task for the wide beam reflector with its angle range 80 to 120 degrees. To deal with high ceilings, on the other hand, the narrow beam reflector can be fitted, with a range from 30 to 80 degrees. Precisely changing the beam angle using a knob on the gear housing couldn’t be simpler. Exchangeable reflectors and the suspension system were specially developed for the Sino. The initial installation and connection to the electrical supply of the suspension system (a choice of steel cable or rod suspension is available) is carried out without the luminaire attached. The luminaire, including control gear box and reflector, is then installed via a simple plug-in connector. As a further bonus, versions of Sino for various lamp types share the same external form. So it’s possible to swap a luminaire with one lamp type for a different one by using the easy-connect plug, without having to interfere with the suspension system. There is a choice between metal-halide and high pressure sodium versions, each 150W.
Clean lines combined with technical precision are key features of Sino. The aluminium reflector with its plastic ring hints at its technical role as exchangeable part central to the easy-connect system. The industrial aesthetic of high-performance reflector combined with electronic control gear is seductive, as the slim shape of the gear housing and the gleam of the reflector work their decorative charm. The angular form helps define the horizontal axes, and provide a visual highlight in shops and interior spaces.
