This cube has a secret. The exterior light, tecta, was designed by Holger Jahnke and Sven Birkenheuer from Berlin. The idea was to create a light for the wall and ceiling which can be fitted out individually. The basis is made from brushed stainless steel. It can be fitted out with granite, stainless steel, opal glass and the classic black or white and coloured glass. tecta is a design element for home exteriors which combines functionality and elegance in a startling simple manner.
The dice shaped base including the mounting panel, forms the basic strukture of the light named tecta. On the remaining 5 sides of the dice, individual applications in various types of material can be mounted. Covers in granite, opal glass or brushed stainless steel can be used. It is also possible to use coloured covers or insert digits for the house number. The light beam can shine either directly or indirectly depending upon the arrangement of the glass covers. Due to the modular mountings the light tecta has many uses and is very versatile.
