Series 7 designed in 1955 by Arne Jacobsen is the flagship of Fritz Hansen's collection.

"Finally a chair by Jacobsen with 4 legs and with optional arms", the press wrote in 1955!

A multipurpose chair range also offering varieties such as castors, a pedestal base plus a string of accessories.
The slim shell is compsed of 9 layers of veneer plus 2 layers of cotton textile and rests on a base made of mirror chromed or satin chromed steel.

The many colours are available in a lacquered or lazured version. But Series 7 comes in wood veneer as well. And for added comfort - with leather or fabric upholstery, on the front only or on the entire chair. Available in different types of leather - new as of March 2005 is the welt leather - a very think upholstery with a very thick leather and visible seams.

Series 7 is the main feature of our Spring collection 2005. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Series 7, we're introducing a number of new additions:
- dark-stained oak
- high-gloss colours (orange, silk, white, black, red, dark-grey, lime)
- new colours
- children's chair
- welt-leather - visible seams
- bar stool

COLOURS AND FINISH
The new colours (in lacquer or lazur) include: black, deep blue, indigo, dark grey, pearl, silk, ivory, white, petrol, turquoise, ice blue, lemon lime, lime, sunny yellow, rose, magenta, red, dark red.
High-gloss coulours are: black, silk, white, lime, orange, red, dark grey.
Wood: cherry, walnut, maple, ash or beech.
Welt leather: White, black, dark brown, light brown, bordeaux
Children's chair: Black, white, lime, rose, orange lacquer or beech.
